Saaya urges Sonowal to sanction funds for sports infrastructure development
NEW DELHI, Oct 13: Parliamentary Secretary for Home, Youth Affairs and Sports, Likha Saaya called on Union Minister of State for Skill Development, Youth Affairs and Sports (Independent Charge) Sarbananda Sonowal at New Delhi on October 10.
While submitting a memorandum, Saaya urged the Union Minister to sanction funds for construction of various outdoor and indoor stadiums in Arunachal Pradesh.

Pointing out the tourism potential of the state, Saaya also urged the Union Minister to sanction a scheme for construction of permanent mega festival cum multipurpose ground with all infrastructure parking facilities with approach road at Tawang.
Saaya reminded the Minister about the potentials of youths particularly in sports. He informed Sonowal that despite having such potentials, the promising players from this Himalayan region are yet to see the light.
“Due to absence of basic and world class infrastructure, along with fund crisis, the development of games and sports are facing tough times in the state”, added Saaya.
Meanwhile, responding to the memorandum, the Union Minister assured to look into the matter. He promised to sanction establishment of various infrastructure related to games and sports and also projects for the youth development in the state. He himself being a native of Assam, has shown extra ordinary interest in the matter, Saaya informed while adding that Union Minister has appreciated Nabam Tuki led Congress government for striving in various projects to tap potential of youth sections with the initiation of Job Mela, and announcement of sports quota in government jobs for meritorious sports persons.
Further, the Union Minister also apprised the Saaya about new guidelines and various policies of the Union Government for establishment of sports infrastructures.
With regards to enhancement of skill development among unemployed youths, Saaya has pushed for schemes under NLCPR and NEC, prioritised by state Govt and submitted to the Union Ministry for retention as well for sanction. The Minister has asked to submit as much as proposals and assured to get it sanctioned at the earliest possible time.
The Union Minister has also stressed the need to submit the proposal for Rajiv Gandhi Khel Yojna (RGKY) scheme from every block of Arunachal Pradesh as soon as possible. He also assured to take up any kind of projects like Urban Sports Infrastructure Scheme (USIS) etc on top priority and also guaranteed to take up international standard stadiums and all kind of games sports activity related projects.

ABK WW and police team seize cannabis
PASIGHAT, Oct 13: While continuing their effort to bust the racket of drugs peddlers in East Siang district, the Adi Bane Kebang Women Wing team again seized kilos of cannabis and some Fevicol packets used for inhaling from peddlers.
A team of ABK WW nabbed the actual suppliers of cannabis after a tip off from arrested three persons on October 11.
The team informed that one Olik Regon from Bijari Village under Dambuk division reached Pasighat with cannabis weighing 7.2 Kg when asked by the regular purchaser Attal Dai, however, he fled away when ABK WW team led police swung in action but his accomplice one Arjen Yommin was arrested on spot. Subsequently, Regon was arrested from Mebo while he was on his way back home, informed the Pasighat Police.
The ABK WW team also burnt down and damaged cannabis (ganja) gardens near Boying village yesterday. The ABK WW team along with police personnel also intercepted two more persons for selling cannabis and Fevicol. One Doromaya Chettry was arrested with cannabis from Mirku village, while one Oling Gamnoh who was selling Fevicol fled away with a bagful of cannabis.
ITANAGAR, Oct 13: The water pipe of public health engineering and water supply (PHE & WS) department has been badly damaged in between Panchali and State Museum.

It is believed that earth cutting caused the damage. Meanwhile PHE & WS department has deployed their labourers and are working overtime to restore the water supply.
The department source told this daily that it will take another 2 days to restore the complete water supply.
Ahuja calls on Governor and CM
ITANAGAR, Oct 13: Lt. Gen A K Ahuja, General Officer Commanding, 4 Corps, Tezpur called on the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Lt. Gen (Retd) Nirbhay Sharma at Raj Bhawan, here today. It was a courtesy call.

ITANAGAR, Oct 13: All Arunachal Pradesh Labour Union (AAPLU) Capital Complex Unit in a representation to the Minister Agriculture and Horticulture & Veterinary has requested to conduct the Departmental Promotional Committee (DPC) board meeting to create more posts claiming that the department is facing shortage of staffs.
AAPLU CC Unit further added that various establishments of the department such as central poultry farm, campsite livestock farm, central pig breeding farm are facing acute shortage of the staffs and casual labour. It appealed to the departments to appoint causal staffs to fill the vacancies.

ITANAGAR, Oct 13: A five day training programme on “Office Rules & Procedures” for officers and staff of AP Building & Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, Naharlagun commenced at ATI today.
Altogether 33 officers and staff are attending the training programme. Inaugurating the programme, Nyamar Karbak, the board’s chairman & president AP Youth Congress expressed his gratitude to the ATI for conducting the required training programme for the board’s employees. He informed that the very objective of sponsoring this kind of training for the Board is that the Board does not have definite systems, rules and procedures to provide better services to the workers. So, the ongoing training was much needed for the employees of the Board to sensitize themselves. He advised the participants to develop their skill levels and strictly follow the rules and procedures taught by the resource persons.
Teachers training held
CHANGLANG, Oct, 13: The teacher’s training programme for teachers teaching mathematics at primary level in the district organised by the SSA District unit, Department of Education under the initiative of District Administration, Changlang concluded.
The training was organized with the objective to formulate a broad planning and development framework setting out guidelines and standards for more effective and comprehensive teaching at schools. During the training efforts were given to improve teaching mythology using the methods of class participation, demonstration, recitation and memorization. The trainees were made skilled on introducing activity based learning and child friendly schooling environment, streamlining the teaching approach to match the curriculum covered in NCERT books, familiarising teachers with techniques of lesson planning etc.
Altogether, 220 teachers from different circles of the district attended the training programme. DIPRO
Testing camp for Scouts and Guides conducted
ITANAGAR, Oct 13: The State Rajya Puraskar Testing camp for Scouts & Guides for three districts of Tawang, West Kameng and East Kameng was conducted at Tawang from Oct 9 and 13. Altogether 15 boys and 45 girls from selected 6 schools of the districts have participated in the event. The Scouts and Guides who passed this testing camp will be eligible to be selected for the Governor Award and thereafter the President Award.
The camp has been conducted by Yangdron Lhamu, District Organizing Commissioner (DOC) Scouts & Guides, Tawang with the help of course leader Prabhakar Mahunta and 10 Scouts Masters and Guides Captains. Earlier, the programme was inaugurated by H Phuntso, DAEO, incharge DDSE.
CBSE scholarship for meritorious students
ITANAGAR, Oct 13: Orasa Taijong and Chow Ingshana Khamhoo of Govt Hr Sec School, Namsai, who have secured 90.6 % and 80.2 % in the AISSC Examination 2014 respectively, were awarded with CBSE scholarship. ITANAGAR, Oct 13: Lokhimon Sangha Kethom Dovan Longri Amei has condemned the brutal murder of Kokila ASM Diganta Teron, who was reportedly stabbed to death on 8th October last at Kokila village. Terming the incident as unfortunate, the organization demanded justice for victim’s family. It further appealed to the law enforcing agency to take stringent action against the culprit as per the established law. The organization also said that due to lack of police establishment at Kokila village such incident occurred easily. The organisation further demanded establishing a temporary police check post at Kokila to contain crimes.

Take public darbar to other towns of state
Chief Minister Nabam Tuki spent the Sunday by meeting people of all walks at Chief Ministers Bungalow. The public darbar was attended by thousands of visitors, including students and youth organizations, Panchayat leaders, patients and individuals. On the spot, decisions were taken for issues that needed urgent attention or were officially possible. Others were noted down by the CM with the assurance that these would be looked into and sorted out soon in coming days.
The concept of holding public darbar is very good and should be welcomed by everyone. However, it should be held on regular basis. Chief Minister's cell should further explore the possibility of holding public darbar at places like Pasighat, Tezu, Khonsa etc. It is not possible for the every citizens of eastern Arunachal to visit Itanagar just to attend the public darbar. Therefore by holding darbar in the above mentioned towns, the Chief Minister will get rare opportunity to understand the real problem affecting the life of poor citizen.

Not a welcome decision
Dear Editor,
I’ve been a regular reader of the online version of your esteemed daily. It pains my heart reading about the recent decision of the government of Arunachal Pradesh in general & Ministry of Education in particular.
The ministry is playing with the society, students and the teachers’ community alike.
How can the ministers justify that the mass transfer during the mid-
What have they been doing so far? How did they suddenly come out with such an autocratic, unwelcome & adamant decision? Why is our govt playing with the future of the thousands of students? Who is happy with this decision? Prior to such transfer, cause & affect should have been taken into account.

Further, I was very surprised to read that govt had already posted the required subject teachers in Kharsang. But if that was the case, then why did the students of Govt Higher Secondary School, Kharsang were compelled to stage a dharna? Did the minister mean that the dharna was staged even though the subject teachers are available? Rather than strongly reacting to the students, the minister should proactively deal and resolve the issue with the students. Uproars have already started in many schools & localities with students/teachers striking & even daring to go to the court.
Hence, my kind appeal to the Education Minister is to ensure that there are adequate teachers in all the schools.
Secondly, issue transfer orders well in advance so that there are no disturbances to academic session. Thirdly, please draw an effective mechanism to ensure that there are relievers of teachers transferred.

Traffic in education department
Dear Editor,
How nicely our dear education minister has justified his stand for the move of mass transfers. The recent agitation at Boleng ADC office on 10th October seems a step forward to revive the Arunachal society. I wish the students and the parent’s body could come out to the street demanding for the cancellation of the move.
Although, the justification may be of streamlining the education system of the state but a step to avenge the political vendetta of the last election as alleged. If we are to believe the allegation then the adult franchise is no more secret ballot or the minister/the party workers won’t know voter’s choice of candidate.
As per records, there are 742 extra teachers in Pasighat town itself but it has been a regular practice. The institutions can’t accommodate the teachers for a class then posting could have been done. But Taloh had sent some physically challenged employees to the hardest zone.
Governmental of Arunachal has exercised the transfer norms, despite many tough political resistances, in an odd timing as this had never happened in the tenure of Bosiram Siram, Takam Sanjoy and others in the past.
However, transfer is a craze of Education Minister and the virus will contaminate whole of Arunachal.
The objective to streamline education should start from 35(ST) Pangin assembly constituency where shortage of teachers have been a regular menu in Primary schools of Lissing, Messing, Pareng, Rengo, Riga (Hele and Ugeeng), Riew (Mobuk and Redang), Komsing(karo and Bilung), Tarak Pirgong, Lokbung, Upper Primary Riew and Residential school Rebo (Riew).
BJP, the toothless tigers of Aruanchal have reacted against such an ugly move to probe that it is better late than never. Party must realize that the employees are being transferred suspected to have cast their votes in favour of BJP.
Arunachal Pradesh is out of CM’s control as it is clearly seen that he has no say in the affairs of the state. Odd events have embellished our state and it is feared that something worse will happen in the future. CM must reshuffle his cabinet crew if he is truly dedicated to the throne.

Dear Editor,
The Mass-
It is also said that there are surplus teachers in East Siang. We believe that with comparison to other district we have got more teachers because we have more students. So where is the surplus? There are many single teacher schools in our district. So, why it is necessary to transfer the teachers to other district? If it is properly analysed, then one will find that there is shortage of teachers within the district itself.
What is very interesting is that when we saw the list of teachers transferred to other district we were surprised to find the name of some teachers who has taught us three decades ago.
They have served for more than 30 years and are on the verge of retirement. Many of them have fulfilled the required numbers of transfers. In place of them, there are many young and energetic teachers who have been recently appointed and they may be posted to others districts where there is shortage of teachers.
